INSTRUCTIONS FOR INFLATING A BASKETBALL

Disclaimer: Over-inflating the ball can damage it, while under-inflation can affect its performance.

  1. find the needle on the pump. Make sure it is secured tightly. Wet the needle with a little bit of water or saliva. This will help the needle slide into the valve of the ball more easily.

  2. Locate the valve on the basketball. It is usually located near the center of the ball.

  3. Gently insert the needle into the valve. Be careful not to insert it too far or at an angle, as this can damage the basketball valve.

  4. Begin pumping air into the ball by pushing the pump handle up and down. Count the number of pumps you make.

  5. check the ball periodically by feel and touch. if it feels firm and bounces properly, stop pumping air into the ball. If not, continue pumping until the desired air pressure is reached. repeat as necessary.

  6. Once you have finished inflating the ball, remove the needle from the valve by gently pulling it out of the ball.

  7. That's it! With a little practice, inflating a basketball with a pump will become quick and easy. Just remember to take your time and follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the ball.
